It's teaching you to type combinations of 2, 3 and 4 letters that are very real. People also complain that isn't teaching them to type real words. It took me just over a month because I am slow, but for some people it takes them a day or two at most. It continues like this until you have unlocked all 26 letters of the alphabet. That maximises the amount of practice that you get at hitting the S key, which means you learn it really quickly. You will notice that you're still using the 6 letters that you were learning before, but now the current letter that you're learning, S, is featured in every word. It's cool if you like that stuff but as a 38 year old, when I first learned to type a little over a year ago, I needed something that cut to the chase. It does away with all the cutesy animations between tests and awarding you stars and all the rest of it. Then I would move to which I think is still the most efficient method for actually learning how to type. I would spend long enough on to learning which fingers should be pressing which keys.
